Sony announced this morning that they're lowering the price of their 60 GB PS3 (now the only one available in North America since Sony discontinued the 20 GB model) $100 to the retail price of $499. Sony also announced an 80 gig PS3 that would be bundled with Motostorm and retail for $599. Sort of defeats the purpose of the price drop doesn't it? So what they've done is basically upgraded the hard drive size of both old models by 20 GBs. That's still twice as small as the Xbox 360 Elite hard drive.
The new pricing will be effective immediately. Both systems are identical except for storage space.
